Return to VP-93Early Years I was a very green ensign assigned to this unit during its early shakedown period in Norfolk and Quonset Point, and was a 2d pilot under Lt.(jg) Jock Sutherland when the squadron deployed to Argentia, NFLD in April or May, 1942. I was designated PPC in November '42 and detached, with others, for return to the States and assignment to a new squadron forming in Norfolk and later in Corpus Christi, VP-208. I've always been a bit envious of VP-93's assignment to Great Britain after its work in and from Argentia.
